Elation

The Elation isn't Carnival's newest, but at only two years old it's certainly in great shape. The itinerary for this cruise is known as the Mexican Riviera, and stops at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas.

After a rather uneventful drive from Denver to Los Angeles, we checked into the Best Western in San Pedro. Despite reading stories of it being a scary place to stay, we had no problems. We spent the day before boarding at the Queen Mary, the Russian submarine, and the Maritime Museum. We really liked the Maritime Museum - they had lots of intricate ship models including the Titanic and Queen Mary. At $1 donation for adults, it was the bargain of the trip.

Days One and Two - at sea headed South
Day Three - Puerto Vallarta
Day Four - Mazatlan
Day Five - Cabo San Lucas
Day Six - at sea headed back
The Bottom Line - was it worth it?
