Homeport - Port Canaveral

If we were expecting Florida to be warm, we were mistaken. It snowed the morning before we arrived, and rained the rest of the day. We checked in to our hotel, then went to the port to see the Carnival Dream leave. The Dream is Carnival's largest and newest ship, and had an unusual design.

Cocoa Beach is the home of the Ron Jon Surf Shop chain, and has the largest surf shop in the world, Unfortunately, their prices were rather high so we didn't buy anything.

On Sunday, we had a leisurely breakfast, repacked everything, and drove to the port. The parking lot was mostly empty, and we were aboard the ship within about half an hour.

We shared the port with the Disney Wonder and Carnival Sensation.

The Sensation is one of Carnival's older ships. It recently was in drydock and had 98 balconies added to formerly outside cabins. While the effect is odd, it is a valid method of extending the useful life of a ship.
