Juneau

Juneau had the feel of a county seat rather than a state capitol. I don't know what its population is but it's not large at all. Given there are no roads into or out of Juneau, there sure seemed to be a lot of vehicle traffic.

Travis and I started up the hiking trail that would eventually take us to the top of the tram, but we didn't make it more than half way...the trail was rather muddy and had fairly steep dropoffs. The view was sadly hidden by the rainforest.

The rest of the family attempted to visit the Mendenhall Glacier. The city bus would only take them to within a mile of the Glacier Visitor Center, even though they claimed they went to the Visitor Center. Needless to say, the family was not happy about having to walk.
