Day Four - St. Thomas

We sailed into the harbot at St. Thomas right at sunrise. Charlotte Amalie, the largest city on the island, looked beautiful as it shone in the sun.

Right after we docked, the Celebrity Millenium pulled in right behind us. This brand-new ship utilizes gas turbine engines for greater efficiency and lower exhaust pollution. She looked like a fine ship...

We left the ship and walked out through the Havensight mall with the intention of taking the cable car up for a harbor view. However, a bus driver told us the prices for the gondola were fairly outrageous (as it turns out, they were) so instead we opted to let her drive us across the island to Coral World. On the way, we stopped for an aerial view of the island.

The downtown area looks different from above...

Coral World is a fascinating mix of aquarium and marine park. They offered typical aquarium novelties such as the ability to pet rays and sharks. There were several nice collections of fish and turtles. There were even iguanas sitting in the trees.

After Coral World, we returned to the harbor. The girls and I returned to the ship for lunch, followed by shopping and a nap. The ladies went to the downtown area to shop.
