Still More Problems

While the cruise was basically perfect for us, my college roommate's wife didn't fare so well. Since she knew in advance that she was succeptible to seasickness, she arranged with her doctor to get the Patch. This seemed to work, initially, but she began to experience anxiety attacks. Finally, on the last day, she visited the ship's doctor, who told her to remove it immediately.

Unfortunately, by then the damage was done. Due to the anxiety attack, she refused to fly back to Houston after the cruise. We ended up working a deal with her - she paid for me to fly home while Theresa and the girls gave her a ride to Houston. Surprisingly, the route through Houston was only about 200 miles longer than the route through St. Louis.

In a way, it worked out well for us. We were scheduled to move out of our rent house later that week, so I was able to get many things moved before Theresa and the girls returned two days later.
