This cruise turned out to be a great alternative to the more expensive 7-day cruises. It was just long enough to be worth doing, and had a large amount of time in decent ports. While the ship was old, it was in great shape.
As usual, Carnival tries to soak you for every dollar they can. My sister-in-law did pretty good on the slots, but I lost my $20 in about 15 minutes. The photos were far too expensive, but perhaps not when you figure they probably have to throw half of them or more away. We went with the automatic tipping just because it was the least hassle, but we also tipped our waiter a bit extra.
Disembarkation was amazing. We all had to visit Immigration very early (7 am), and that took about half an hour. We then retreated to our rooms but were expected to leave by 8:45. However, our color was called by about 8:30. We were off the ship and in the van headed out by 9 am. The drive back to Denver wasn't bad and we were home in our own beds about 20 hours later.
