My Cruise Adventures

Grenada

We had no tours booked for Grenada, and the only must-do I had on my list was to buy some local chocolate and some spices. Since we visited on a Sunday, almost all of the businesses were closed. Fortunately, there was a small shopping mall at the port and the stores there were open soon after we arrived. I was able to find both the spices and the chocolate. They must think a lot of their chocolate - it was $5 for a single bar. I bought 5 each of the 60% and 71% varities.

After returning to the ship with my purchases, I again ventured onshore with my laptop. I found a little sports bar that offered free wifi, so I had one of the local beers while fetching and replying to my e-mail. I then set off for the local fort, which offered stunning views of the city and harbor.

I was quite surprised to find that many of the local buildings were just left to rot after Hurricane Mitch. If you want to have a great property in town and don't mind rebuilding the interior, they have some deals for you.
