St. Thomas

St. Thomas is always one of my favorite ports - it's drop-dead gorgeous and there are plenty of bargains to be had. We spent the morning shopping for rum and other beverages, art, and jewelry. Unfortunately, the Effy Jewelers there did not have the exact rings we loved last year in Cozumel, but we certainly stocked up on the rum.

Our shore tour here was to take us to the St. John national park. Unfortunately, when we arrived dockside for the tour, we were told that it had been cancelled due to heavy seas. That was a bit ironic as they had been glass-smooth when we arrived in port that morning. So, with nothing else to do, we wandered around Havensight (the shopping area at the West Indies Company dock) and spent some time at an Internet cafe with a very slow connection.
